Oh the face

So busy week here in the Knop house. Drs drs drs and project projects projects! Jacoby had an ENT appt for and eardrum that wont heal closed, Kenley had and ear infection (thanks Jacoby) and I felt like hell which we can chalk up to viral tonsilitis. But til the season. Many of my final projects came due and so I am waiting patiently for my grades. And it is beginning to look like Christmas around here! 6-8 inches of snow fell yesterday and out with it came idiot drivers who forget it snows every year. I am patiently waiting on Josh’s bonus to get here so that I can finsih Christmas shopping and I am done with school for the semester December 13th! It really can not come soon enough.

Jacoby’s joke of the weekend “Knock knock!” “Whos there?” “GRRRRRRRRR! Im a tiger!” And his Jacobyism would have to be “this is taking tomorrow!” this means that it is taking a long time today that it will run into tomorrow.

With that being said it brings me onto my next point about the Oh S*** face. Have you ever noticed that it explains so many things in life? For example the ltieraly oh s*** face that Kenley gives me when she fills her diaper or when Jacoby got busted yesterday for eating the rest of the bag of oreo cookie (he ate 2 whole rows before i busted him). Or even the oh s*** face when Josh comes home to see the dishes done and is thinking oh s*** what does she want or what do I need to do. Well yesterday I saw the oh s*** face in the form of cars spinning, trucks in the ditch and of everyone about the snow. Me? well I drove to Omaha and back in it with the kids on a promise that I’d take Jacoby to see Santa. My oh s*** face came when Santa gave Jacoby a candy cane and we were in for an hour drive home (due to weather) and I was thinking oh s*** thats going to be messy in the car. So I feel like the oh s*** face is mutlimeaningful and can explain the many situations in life.  Well we are off to a baby shower and snow cleanup today along with the regular studying ~Happy December all!~

Jacoby’s Santa Wish

Josh and I had devised a plan about Christmas this year to cut down on costs of gifts for the kiddos. Jacoby is so blessed and loved that our house constantly looks like a toy grenade went off. So we asked Jacoby if Santa could bring him 1 gift this year and give the rest to other children who aren’t as lucky as him. He smiled and agreed and then went about his business deciding what to ask for when he sees Santa.

Well Jacoby is a amazing boy and touched my heart today with his inquisitive mind. “Mom what about the kids at my hospital? Can Santa take them my gifts?” when we were discussing Christmas and I was reminding him of the 1 gift rule. Well our small scheme to save money has shifted into Jacoby’s wish to take his Santa gifts to his friends at Children’s Hospital in Omaha.

So here’s my plan: Kenley has many bows and blooms that she has not worn yet that will be given to the hematology/oncology clinic because the little girls with cancer lose their hair so they like wearing bows in place of their hair. They stick them on crochet bands and rock them like theres no tomorrow. We will be making this donation in honor of Brinkley Chandler who passed away this year due to an inoperable brain tumor.

I will be taking $50 that was allotted for a family Christmas gift and buying toys then we as a family will go help Jacoby deliver the toys to Children’s. The rule there is they have to be brand new because of germs so I was thinking some hot wheels dolls ect.

I called the foundation and got approval and will keep you posted. I just thought it was amazing how a 4 1/2 year old can remind us what the season is about. It is about caring and loving and being thankful for what you have.

Dum dee dum dum dum

The title describes my mind’s amount of work that it is capable of right now. 24 hours 4 nursing tests and 5 hours of sleep. And a cherry bagel. That describes how my life has been right about now. Its safe to say now that I’ve passed each test, not to hte best of my ability, but still passed and hell week number 2 of this semester is over! And its a downhill slide to the end. I can see lots of housework in my future over Christmas break. My poor house has been so neglected and I’ve finally bought filing folders for the many insurance papers that keep procreating on my counters and table. I went through Jacoby’s toys the other day and threw out 3 walmart bags of toys. I’m not kidding. And the kid still has more toys than Macy’s toys section. I asked what he wanted for Christmas and his response was “everything”. That’d be Josh’s son right there.

This weekend Jacoby had a constant whine on. And i’m not just meaning when he asked for things. Im talking 100% of every word, phrase and sigh that came out of him was a whine. We had pictures on Saturday to help a friend out with her sister’s children’s boutique and he had to be bribe the whole time. Then Sunday we went to the zoo to meet the inlaws for family pics and he had to be told cookies and gift shop cookies and gift shop. This was ontop of my cold and need to study. But today a new leaf has turned as he helped Josh this morning while he was getting ready and then got the Leader student of the Month at his school! I’m so proud of him! He was a good listener and showed his fellow students how to work hard. I swear 4 year olds are as moody as a pregnant woman.

Kenley is getting so chubby! I shouldn’t use that word to describe her but the rolls on her thighs are soooo cute! She is finally starting to really put weight on and is eating 5 ounces in one setting. We just now are starting to try food again (last time she didn’t poop) and it’s going ok. She really doesn’t care for it more or less eats it because its in her mouth. She now ‘yells’ and ‘lectures’ which is very much needed in this house. Last night Jacoby tried to pick her up and he let him hear it. She is now attached to a giraffe named Sophie which squeaks and smells like rubber. It is like baby crack. Jacoby also likes ‘borrowing’ it from her as well.

Well in other exiting news last night we had water in our basement as well as running down our driveway. After an assessment today they fear our front yard sprinkler water line broke. SO its not a huge emergency other than that the water could cause a sink hole. Sweet. Not like I liked our front yard anyhow.

Right now Kenley is swinging and Jacoby is trying to get me to smell his armpits. Yes his new thing is after bathtime you have to smell his feet and armpits. I dont know where he got it from but he really gets upset if you dont smell them. His new joke lately is “how do you makr a kleenex dance? Put a booger in it!” Close enough right?! he cracks me up because he is always laughing at his jokes. He will just say poop or fart and crack up. Hes 100% boy.

Well I get to go to bed early tonight and not crack a book. Tomorrow it is careplan writing and enjoying no test! Hope you like the pic from the photo shoot Saturday. I can’t wait to see more pics that was just a sneak peek!

Sorry its been awhile. Unfortunately I got locked out of this for 1 week because I got confused on my password and after too many attempts it booted me. SMH only in Shonda’s world lol. Well 2 weeks have passed and let me catch you up! I’m still passing classes and ready for Turkey day. I need a break! Jacoby has been in school working on his braille and trying hard. He was being sneaky tho. There is a game they play called tactile treasures. Its where they play a game with their eyes closed and use their fingers to find where the pages are different. Jacoby earned quite a few stickers and I was saying how proud of him I was when he leaned over and said “i peek mom thats my secret!” What a stinker! So I told him to promise to never peek again which he did, then told Mary, his braille teacher.

In these 2 weeks Jacoby had been hit with a sinus infection and Kenley a nasty cold. They are getting over them but the lack of sleep is killing me! Now today I felt that tickle and am praying that it doesnt hit me.

I’ve started Christmas shopping(i know be surprised its not last minute!) and this year my goal is to buy from smaller shops or homemade items. And of course all my fave little girls got blooms and bows if they wear them.  I also found a shop that does homemade sock monkeys and I’m also doing fam pics for the inlaws since theirs need updating. As for my kiddos Jacoby and I had a long talk one afternoon and we’ve come to the agreement that Santa will only get them stocking stuff and 1 gift. The reason is because there are a lot of children in the world who dont have a lot of toys so we are telling Santa to give the other presents to them. Jacoby’s kind of proud of this 🙂 and then him and Kenley will get 3 gifts because thats the number of gifts that Jesus got on his birthday. Hes ok with that and should be because to be honest I have no idea what to get him or Kenley! Josh and I aren’t getting/exchanging gifts since we used it up in OCtober on our colorado trip so that makes it easier.

Josh has been in the hunting mood. Driving me crazy I tell you between the hunting shows and then him trying to go out any chance he gets I’m definately over it. He got a 5 by 5 (10 point) with his bow Monday night and I hinted that his hunting season may be over until I’m on break from school. He is getting ANOTHER head mounted (damn deer) but it goes in the man cave with the acknowledgement that he can’t mount anymore unless its bigger and only 2 dead deer on the wall at a time. Jacoby was pretty excited that Dad caught a deer though.

Kenley is 5 months and goodness she has probably gained a pound in a week! Watch out now I have a feeling these rolls will soon multiply on her thighs and wrists. Shes laughing and rolling (somewhat) and cooing along with the raspberry sounds. Shes quite a person now and is funny to watch when she gets annoyed with Jacoby because she will try to roll away from him lol

Well I have soo much coming up but I’m glad i got back on. Hope to be on tomorrow night!

Sorry I’ve been a little absent with test after test along with a naughty little boy thinking that putting a poptart in the dvd player and other actions like that I have been busy! This weekend made for an interesting one as now Kenley shrieks..yes..shrieks. I am pretty sure it must be a girl thing because other mothers I’ve talked to have said ‘”oh yeah I remember those days” but moms of boys are confused by this shrieking. This is how I know its coming full circle from when I’m a child. And she once again dislikes car rides. And she lets you know. As we were driving from home from Lincoln she started complaining and Jacoby pipes up “Mom Kenley doesn’t like the car and shes driving me crazy!” hahaha its only the beginning buddy.

We had Husker Heroes this weekend which is a gathering of athletes from all sports, football included, come and hang out with disabled people from all avenues such as autism, downs, spinda bifida ect ect. This was our second year and it was soo much fun! Jacoby of course went sporting his shirt and Kenley was dressed in her leg warmers and hair bloom. It was nice ot get out and see these people take their time to play game with the kids.

Today was Halloween and Jacoby was up at 6 am to remind us that he gets to be Batman! He wore his costume at school, daycare, and then out tonight. We hit up Nye street which is where the rich people live lol. So they were handing out whole candy bars not just the fun size so Jacoby kept saying “jackpot!” hahaha he got that from his dad. It was a nice evening but now its a downhill slope straight to Christmas. Yipes!

Well I’ll be on again tomorrow. Hope you all had a fantastic day and saw lots of cuties. Mine were pretty adorable 🙂

Boys will be boys will be..ugghh boys

There was a sign this morning when I left that it would be an interesting day..to say the least. I left the house and reached the gas station only to recieve a phone call to say Jacoby had found that I’d left my papers at home. Ding!  Should’ve known. I spent the morning at the Nebraska Correctional Youth Facility and it was peaches haha. Security had to search my pump bag (no officer I don’t think anyone can kill someone with my breast shield-thanks) and got to be the entertainment for the felons age 15-21 yrs. Just the presence of a woman in the facility made these hardcore gangbangers act like what they are-teenage boys. Yeppers I felt like I was Megan Fox and although I dont get embarrassed easily I sure turned 50 shades of red today! It was sad though that many of these 15 year olds already had 50 year sentences and the background of them is insane. If they wouldn’t have joined the gang their dad/uncle/brother was in then they risked their life and so joined and no ruined their life by that decision. But i did up my street cred today so watch out. Hardcore mama right here!

I returned to school to become certified in vision screening and looked down to find 6 missed calls from Jacoby’s school! So of course I listened to the voicemails and lets recap what happened. Jacoby was playing tag then decided to stop and locked his breaks. Well the 2 other boys decided he was still playing and decided to try to pull his chair backwards causing it to tip back and fall. I think it scared him more than anything other than a little knock on the head but Jacoby, my little drama king, told me that they tried to hide him and he told them that his mom was going to call the cops to take them to jail! hahaha As much as the tiger mom in me wanted to spank the other boy’s butts I just reminded the school nicely that Jacoby’s wheelchair is his legs and they should be treated as such. Then I just shook my head and thought to myself that this won’t be the first and won’t be the last.  Jacoby was talking about it tonight and said “mom if I were a mom I’d spank them and they wouldn’t get cookies for 2 whole days! Thats a long time!” hahaha oh the thought of a 2 year old!

This evening has been quiet with the dinosaur noises and Kenley vocalizing that I’m not giving her enough attention lol! that lil stinekr decided to wean herself off her binky last night and has continued it today. I don’t know what Josh is going to do! Go into crisis mode I’m sure lol His process when she’s crying is Binky..diaper…binky…walking…binky…bottle…binky…blanket..binky..call Shonda :0 I can hear it now “ummm Hey Kenley’s crying and wont take her binky” Ill break the news to him tonight about the binky gently lol.

Well tomorrow I’m off to Oakland Iowa with the mobile unit for school and have quite a bit of homework to do and a test to study for so I may not blog tomorrow so ill leave you with Jacoby’s joke of the evening

Knock Knock! Who’s there? Banana. Banana who? Banana I’m going to spank his butt then split him in half if he farts! ~he likes to make his own up lol~

Well I’ve made it to the world of blogging…….

Well the move has finally been made (yay nay?!) I figure I have so many people follow me on facebok that I needed to take the step to blogging not only for my sanity and relief of verbal diarrhea but also because I get asked soo often how school is, how the kids are, how the hubster is, and also for everyone’s favorite little Jacobyisms. It’s worth a shot right? I hope to get a few followers maybe my grandma..we shall see. Right now Jacoby is wanting me to read his map while Kenley wrestles with a lion stuffed animal trying to get his paw into her mouth. 4 months makes for a lot of drool and objects in the mouth, followed by my nervous thoughts of hand foot mouth disease..lysol wipes anyone? Well I’ll leave you with this and try to make blogging a habit but beware school and kiddos may rob me of my time and rightfully so.
